Chapter Social (Click here)

The 1st Annual WVU Southern NJ Alumni Chapter Social will be held at the Woodcrest Country Club (Cherry Hill, NJ) on September 27, 2019 (7-11pm).  Since this is our first year, our goal is to support student scholarships, engage and connect local WVU alumni.

We hope alumni, parents of students, friends and family will come together to enjoy food, drink, and entertainment while helping to raise money for the Eric S. Schaetzle Memorial Scholarship through a 50/50 raffle and a ticket auction on gift baskets.

Eric passed away in a car accident shortly after graduating from WVU with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. The endowment will provide scholarships for undergraduate students from the area served by the Southern New Jersey Alumni Chapter including Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer and Salem counties in New Jersey.

“We hope the recipients of this scholarship will be able to live the life that Eric was not able to by helping people,” said Eric’s family. “He was known for his great big hugs and more importantly, his time, time to care about another human being and what they were going through.”

Sponsorship for this event are available (click here) and is a great way to gain exposure for your company to local WVU Alumni. This support for Chapter Social, will not only be helping provide scholarships to local WVU students, it will be ensuring that the alumni of tomorrow are getting the best educational opportunities during their time at West Virginia University.

We hope you will support the Chapter Social by attending the event.

Student Summer Send-off

This event will be held on Thursday, July 25th (6-8pm) at Paris Caterers in Berlin, NJ.  As we have in the past, we will provide food and non-alcoholic drinks, including nice prizes. There will be a cash-bar.  To help make sure we have enough food, we ask that parents and students register for this event (Registration Link).  We will accept registration up to Monday, July 22nd, but ask that you do so by July 18th so we can give a good count to the caterer.  The event is free, though we do ask for a $25 donation per family to help with the cost.  Please note a donation is not required to attend the event.

Game Watches

Our football and basketball game watches are held at the PJ Whelihan’s Pub (Haddonfield, NJ).  We may add additional sites; however the Haddonfield location is our home place to watch games and announcements will be made the week of the game to provide game times and any other special announcements.  Dates and times are located on the Home page.
